Program Overview:
The CRA portion of the seminar gives employees a general overview including the purpose and importance of the regulation; the performance evaluation components; and public file requirements.
The FAIR LENDING portion of the seminar focuses on the regulatory requirements of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Fair Housing Act. This includes a review of how fair lending concerns impact the application process, underwriting, marketing, CRA performance evaluations, civil and criminal liabilities, and the reputation of your institution. Various types of lending discrimination are explained along with the consequences of violations and practical tips to avoid fair lending pitfalls; interagency exam procedures; and recent "hot topics" in fair lending.
